About This Program
Explore Flight, Engineering, and the Science of Space
Aerospace & Rocketry Club gives students an exciting introduction to aviation, space science, and engineering design through safe, hands-on projects. This program is designed for students who are curious about airplanes, rockets, space missions, and how engineers solve real-world problems.
Throughout the program, students will explore the basic forces of flight, including lift, drag, thrust, and gravity. They will investigate how airplanes stay in the air, how rockets move upward, how parachutes slow objects down, and how engineers improve designs through repeated testing.
Students will participate in activities such as building paper airplanes, testing gliders, designing parachutes, creating balloon rockets, launching straw rockets, and completing payload or landing challenges. Each activity encourages students to ask questions, make predictions, test their ideas, measure results, and redesign their models for better performance.
The club also emphasizes the engineering design process. Students will learn how to plan, build, test, analyze, and improve their creations. Instead of simply making a project once, they will be encouraged to think like engineers by studying what worked, what failed, and how their designs can be improved.
This program helps students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, collaboration, patience, and scientific thinking. By the end of the club, students will have a stronger understanding of flight, aerospace engineering, and how real engineers use data and teamwork to design successful aircraft and space systems.
Aerospace & Rocketry Club
Aerospace & Rocketry Club introduces students to the science of flight through hands-on engineering challenges. Students design paper aircraft, parachutes, gliders, and safe model rockets while learning about lift, drag, thrust, gravity, stability, and launch safety. Each session encourages creativity, teamwork, testing, redesign, and real-world aerospace thinking.
